The Erik Vermeulen Trio is one of the most refined live bands in and around Belgium. Their latest award winning CD " Live Chroma " (Klara Music Prize 2010) shows a wide variety of compositional techniques and inspiration.

Sometimes the trio excells in lyrical depth of the melodies, or in delicately developed impovisationlike pieces. At other times you hear the dynamic intensity of swing pulse , always with a contemporary freshness to it. Thanks to the unique sound interaction in the band, live versions of jazz standards sound like they were invented instantaneously.

The Erik Vermeulen trio has performed extensively in Belgium and abroad. The complete concert at Jazz Middelheim Festival was broadcasted at the Belgian National TV VRT Canvas in 2010.
